Elisa (Vicente) Pereira

New Bedford-Elisa (Vicente) Pereira age 89 years died February 25th at The Oaks surrounded by those whom she loved. She was the wife of the late Viriato Tavares Pereira. She was the mother of Antonio and his wife Marie E. Pereira of North Providence, RI., John and his wife Maria C. Pereira of New Bedford and the late Jose Pereira. She was the Mother-in-law of Fernanda Pereira of New Bedford. Elisa was the loved grandmother of Cliff, Marisa, Neil, Kirsten and Andrew Pereira. She was the sister Fernanda Vicente and Maria Eduarda Vicente both of São Miguel Açores and the late Peter Vincent, Jacome Vicente, Berta Vicente. She was the sister-in-law and dear friend Maria Vincent. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Pereira was the daughter of the late Maria doCarmo (Correia) and Bento da Silveira Vicente. Elisa was born in Ponta Delgado São Miguel Açores and has lived in this area since 1967. She was a stitcher at Belmont Mfg. until her retirement.

Mrs. Pereira Funeral will be Saturday at 8 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St., with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Friday from 5-7 P.M.
