Joao Cravo

New Bedford – Joao Cravo, age 70 years, died Thursday, February 12, 2009, at home. He was the husband of Rosa (Cacao) Cravo of New Bedford. Mr. Cravo was the father of Joao M., husband of Tina Cravo and Antonio, husband of Connie Cravo, both of Dartmouth. He was the grandfather of Filipe Joseph Cravo, John Joseph Cravo, Patricia Cravo, Luis Cravo, Ana Lee Cravo and family.

Mr. Cravo was the son of the late Jose F. and Clementina (Pereira) Cravo. He was born in Cova, Figueira da Foz, Portugal and lived in this area since 1976. Mr. Cravo was employed as a Captain – Fisherman for Various fishing vessels. He also was a member of the United Fisherman’s Club

Mr. Cravo’s funeral will be Saturday at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 9:30 A.M. Visiting hours will be Friday from 5 - 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery.
