Raul Pina

Dartmouth – Raul A. Pina, aged 61 years, died Wednesday, January 28, 2009 unexpectedly at home. He was the loving companion of Theresa Gomes of Dartmouth. Mr. Pina was the father of Carrie Ann Pina and Raul A. Pina Jr. He was the brother of Kathryn Neves-Grant of New Bedford. Mr. Pina is also survived by two stepchildren David Mello and Heidi Mello, Theresa’s daughter Debra and her husband Scott Bowen. He has 3 grandchildren Kaitlyn Pina and Jessica and Kaitlyn Bowen. Mr. Pina was the uncle of the late T.J. Baptista.

Mr. Pina was the son of Arthur C. and Mary (Pavao) Pina. He was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all his life. Mr. Pina was a retired firefighter for the City of New Bedford. He was a former member of the Teamsters Union: Local 59.

In accordance with his wishes he was cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
