Dartmouth –Antonio Albuquerque died Wednesday January 28th at home Surrounded by his loving family, after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Maria (Fontes) Albuquerque of Dartmouth. Antonio was the loved father of Manuela “Mannie” Jorgensen of Dartmouth, Margarida “Magi” Prata and her husband Jose of New Bedford, Madalena Ferreira and her husband George of Dartmouth, Maria Joao “Mary-John” Sylvia of New Bedford and Pilar Silva of New Bedford. He was the brother of Luis Albuquerque and Joana Taveira both of São Miguel Açores. Antonio was also survived 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and by several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Albuquerque was the son of the late Luis and Laura (Neto) Albuquerque. He was born in São Miguel Açores Portugal and lived in this area since 1970. Mr. Albuquerque was employed as a landscaper. He was also a former member of Ponta Del Gada Club.
Mr. Albuquerque’s Funeral will be Monday from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. at 8:45 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church South Dartmouth, at 10 A.M. Burial will follow at South Dartmouth Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Sunday evening from 5-8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
