Felicidade C. Soares

New Bedford – Felicidade C. Soares, aged 85 years, died, Monday, January 5, 2009 at New Bedford Health Care Center, after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Joao Jacinto Soares. Survivors include 4 daughters Fatima Batista and her husband Americo of New Bedford, Eulalia Botelho and her husband Mario of New Bedford, Isaura Soares and her husband Valdemar of Tewskbury, Ma, and Suzette Martins and her husband Gil of Providence, 2 sons Jose and his wife Santo Cristo of Azores and Joao Domingos and his wife Ana Paula of New Bedford. 18 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 sister Evangelina Mendez of Canada, and 1 brother Joao daCunha of Canada, she is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mrs Soares was the sister of the late Manuel and Guilherne daCunha and Trindade Garcia.

Mrs Soares was the daughter of the late Ana (Conceicao) and Manuel daCunha. She was born in St. Michael, Azores and lived in New Bedford area for 27 years.

Mrs Soares’ Funeral is from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. on Friday at 8:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial is at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 5 - 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
