William R. Mahon

New Bedford - William R. Mahon, aged 69 years, died Friday December 26, 2008 at home after a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Stephanie (Schmautz) Mahon of New Bedford. Mr. Mahon was the father of Deborah Perkins and Donna Mahon both of Springfield, MA., Melanie Johnson of New Bedford, Timothy Mahon of Fairhaven and the late William Mahon Jr. William was the brother of Thomas Mahon of Granby, CT and Patricia Perry of Orlando, Fl. He was the grandfather of Mandy, James and Edwin Perkins, Brett Johnson, Alec Cabral and Tyler Mahon and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and his son-in-law Wayne Cabral Jr. whose help and compassion made Bill’s last days comfortable.

Mr. Mahon was a son of the late Thomas and Ruth (LaGrange) Mahon. He was born in Enfield, CT. and lived in this area for the last 27 years. He was employed by the City of Fall River as a custodian in the D.P.W. prior to his retirement.

Memorial Services with his cremains present will be held Monday, January 5, 2009 from 3 - 5 P.M. at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. Relatives and friends are invited.
