Josephine (Baptiste) Teixeira

New Bedford-Josephine (Baptiste) Teixeira age 97 years passed away Thursday, peacefully at Sacred Heart Home where she had been a resident. She was the widow of Joseph Teixeira. She was the loved mother of William J. Teixeira of Titusville, FL. and Lawrence J. Teixeira of New Bedford. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Teixeira was the daughter of the late Antone and Genevieve (Neves) Baptiste. She was born Camacho, Madeira Island, Portugal. She lived in this area most of her life. She was a sales clerk at Saltmarshes until her retirement. She also worked as a cashier at Liberty Market.

Mrs. Teixeira Funeral will be Monday at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. at 9:30 A.M with a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow at St John Cemetery New Bedford MA. Visiting hours are Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M.
