Maria Raquel Machado

New Bedford – Maria Raquel Machado, age 85, died, Saturday October 26, 2008 at St Lukes Hospital. She was the wife of the late Leonel Machado. Survivors include 3 Daughters Orlanda Mariante of St. Jorge , Azores, Raquel Machado and Noelia Santos both of New Bedford, 2 grandchildren Paul and Ricardo Mariante, 1 great grandchild Micaela Mariante, 1 brother Jose Silveira of Montreal and 1 sister Elda Pinheira of Pico Azores and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Machado was a daughter of the late Ambrosina and Jose Silveira. She was born in Rebeiras, Pico, Azores and lived in this area for 37 Yrs.

Mrs. Machado’s funeral will be Wednesday, from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 8:30 A.M. followed by a service at 9:00 A.M. with Pastor Gabriel. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5-8 P.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.
