Maria Depaz (Santos) Desousa

Dartmouth -Maria dePaz (Santos) DeSousa age 75 years who died Friday at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth. She was the wife of the late Manuel B. DeSousa of New Bedford. Mrs. DeSousa was the mother of Antonio Sousa of Fall River, Mario Sousa of Acushnet, Lourdes De Sousa of Fairhaven, Jose Sousa, Daniel Sousa, Joao Sousa, Angie Pimentel, Maria Ribeiro, and Grace Sousa all of New Bedford. She was the sister of Teresa Araujo of New Bedford and the late Antonio and Manuel Santos. She was also survived by 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. De Sousa was the daughter of the late Antonio and Ana (Furtado) Santos.
She was born in São Miguel, Açores and lived in this area since 1974. Mrs. Santos was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. She participated at the Brandon Woods of Dartmouth Adult Day Care Program.

In accordance with her wishes her funeral was private.
