Florence (Frates) Ponte

New Bedford-Florence Ponte age 91 years, who died Tuesday September 30, 2008 unexpectedly. She was the wife of the late William P. Ponte, the mother of Nancy Pimental wife of Edward V. of Dartmouth. Florence was the sister of Margaret Lake of FL. She is also survived by her loving granddaughters Heidi M. Telles and her husband David and Lynn M. White and her husband James. Florence was the great-grandmother of Julia L. White and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Ponte was the daughter of the late Henry and Margaret (Ambrose) Frates. Florence was born in South Dartmouth and was a life long resident. She was an inspector with the Acushnet Company before her retirement. She was a member of the Dartmouth Council on Aging.

Mrs. Ponte's Funeral will be Friday, October 3rd, at 8:45 A.M from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, So. Dartmouth, at 10 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, October 2nd from 5 to 8 P.M.
