Rose (De Valles) Dart

New Bedford-Rose(De Valles)Dart, age 88, died Saturday, September 20, 2008, at Hathaway Manor Extended Care Facility after a long illness. Mrs. Dart was the mother of Robert W. Duarte Companion of Sandy Smith of New Bedford MA, Eric husband of April Dart of Mystic CT., Brenda Lee Dart- Corrie wife of Edward of Dartmouth, MA., and the late Alfonse C. "Kiya" Duarte. She was the mother-in-law of Gail Duarte of New Bedford, MA. Mrs. Dart was the sister of Alice Rogers of New Bedford, MA., and the late Mary Souza, Joaquim “Jack” DeValles, and Lee Martin.Rose was the Loving Grandmother of 12, Great-grandmother of 20, and she has a Great-Great-grandson. She is also survived by several nephews and one late niece.

Mrs. Dart was a daughter of Maria (Moniz) and Cosme DeValles. She was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all of her life. Mrs. Dart was a member of St. James Seniors, and she was avid bingo player, loved dancing, and her scratch tickets.

Mrs. Dart’s Funeral services will be at the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St., Wednesday at 12 noon. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery Visiting Hours will be Tuesday Evening from 5 –8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
