Adeline (Rego) Lima

New Bedford - Adeline (Rego) Lima, age 83, died Saturday, September 20, 2008 at home after a long illness. Mrs. Lima was the wife of the late John Lima Jr. She was the mother of Bruce J. Lima, husband of Penny of Rotunda, West Florida, and Steven J. Lima husband of Carol of New Bedford. She was the grandmother of Barbara White, Melanie Cole, Jesse Lima, and Rachel Lima. She is also survived by 4 great - grandchildren. Mrs. Lima was the sister of Libania Clapp of New Bedford and the sister of the late Mary Arruda, Joseph, John, Antone, Manuel and Gil Rego. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Lima was a daughter of the late Mary (Jacintho) and Antone Rego. She was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all of her life. She was employed as a seamstress at Paul Modes Inc. She was a member of the Mount Carmel Seniors, St. Hedwig Seniors and St. James Seniors.

Mrs. Lima’s funeral will be on Tuesday from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 9 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church at 10 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday from 5-8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
