Michael Paul Freitas

New Bedford- Michael Paul Freitas, age 17, of New Bedford, died Friday, September 12, 2008, unexpectedly in an automobile accident. He was the son of Walter R. and Natalie (Sousa) Freitas of New Bedford. Mr. Freitas was the brother of Walter and Kellie L. Freitas both of New Bedford and maternal grandson of Natalia Sousa of New Bedford. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Mr. Freitas was the maternal grandson of the late Joao R. Sousa and paternal grandson of the late Jose and Elisa Fonseca.

Michael was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all of his life.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Michael was a Senior at New Bedford High School.

Mr. Freitas’ Funeral will be at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford, MA 02740 on Wednesday at 8 A.M. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
