New Bedford- Virginio Brum age 75 years died Saturday August 23, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Maria Ema (Andrade) of New Bedford. Survivors include his children Virginio Brum and his wife Lucia of Florida, Edna Mello and her husband Leonard of Dartmouth, Isilda de Souza and her husband Avelino of New Bedford, Rosa Rebelo and her husband Joe of Swansea, Gorett (Brum ) Andradeof Florida, Dimas Brum and his wife Connie of Florida, Marcia Lange and her husband Jeffrey of of New York, Rosanna Carreiro and her husband John of Dartmouth, and Valerie Souza and her husband Joe of Acushnet, 19 Grandchildren 5 Great Grandchildren, 1 Brother Manuel Brum of Dartmouth and 1 Sister Martha Santos of Dartmouth. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 Sisters and 3 Brothers.
Mr. Brum was the son of the late Maria Rosa (de Andrade) and Virginio de Andrade Furtado Brum Sr. He was born in St. Michael Azores and moved to New Bedford in 1971. He worked in Construction for Tilcon Capaldi until his Retirement. Mr Brum enjoyed Gardening, Playing Cards and spending time with his family.
Mr. Brum’s Funeral will be Tuesday at 8 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St John the Baptist Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday from 4 to 8 P.M.
