Emily (Fortes) Bento

New Bedford, MA.-Emily Bento age 91 years, died Sunday June 29th after a brief illness at the Tabor Street Nursing Center. She was the widow of Antonio Bento. Emily was the sister of Evangeline De Sousa of New Bedford. She is also survived by two nieces Brenda Fortes De Sousa and Linda De Sousa.

Mrs. Bento was the daughter of the late Joao and Gregolia (Monteiro) Fortes. She was born in Portland ME., and has lived in this area since the late1940’s. She was a stitcher at Cliftex, until her retirement.

Mrs. Bento’s funeral will be Wednesday at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. Religious services will begin at 10 A.M.. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9-10 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
