James Lima

New Bedford-James Lima age 87 died Thursday June 5, 2008 at Sacred Heart Home after a long illness. He was the husband of Leontina “Tina” (Couto) Lima of New Bedford they had been married for 62 years. He was the father of James G. Lima of W. Wareham and Nancy Ann Oliver of Fall River. Mr. Lima was the grandfather of April Kiley, Donald Oliver, Kellie Casseri, Lori Oliver, Brad Oliver and Brian Oliver. He was the brother of Priscilla Raymond of Swansea. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Lima was the son of the late Manuel and Mary (Machado) Lima. He was born in Fall River and lived in this area all his life. He was employed as a cloth spreader at Anderson Little Company until his retirement. He was a member of Civilian Conservation Camp. Mr. Lima enjoyed Bowling & Golfing.

Mr. Lima’s Religious Service will be at the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. Saturday at 9:30 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Friday from to 5-8 P.M.
