Mariana Perez

New Bedford- Mariana Perez age 68 died Thursday May 8th at St. Luke’s Hospital unexpectedly. She was the mother of Betzaida Acevedo of Worcester, Ma., Sonia Acevedo of Puerto Rico, and Victor M. Acevedo of New Bedford, MA. Mrs. Perez was the grandmother of Yanitza, Widnia, Yarily, Wilfredo, Sigfredo and Manuel. Her long time companion Freddy Bermudez of Puerto Rico. She was also survived by six sisters, one brother, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Perez was the daughter of the late Octavio and Obdulia (Nieves) Perez. She was born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, and she lived in this area most of her life. She was employed as a stitcher at Eastern Sportswear.

Mrs. Perez’s funeral will be Monday May 12th from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 10 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church, at 11 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 6 - 8 P.M.
