Elsie L. Perry

New Bedford-Elsie L. Perry age 83 died Tuesday at The Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. She was beloved wife of Paul Perry of Acushnet. She was the mother of Lorraine Moniz of New Bedford, Harold Perry of Acushnet, Wayne Perry of New Bedford, Leslie Ramos of Acushnet, Aura Monteiro of New Bedford and Rick Perry of New Bedford. She was the sister of Vivian Hansen of Osterville, MA. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Perry was the daughter of Joseph and Roselina (Ferreira) Mello. She was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all her life. She was employed by the State of Massachusetts working in their Forster Parents Program.

Mrs. Perry’s funeral will be Friday from the at 7:45 A.M. Perry Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony Padua Church 1359 Acushnet Ave. at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting Hours will Thursday from 5 – 8 P.M.
