Manuel D. Ferreira

Dartmouth-Manuel D. Ferreira age 67 years died at home surrounded by his loved ones Monday April 14th. He was the loving husband of Maria H. (da Costa) Ferreira. He was the father of Rui Ferreira and his wife Bernadette of South Dartmouth, Jose Ferreira and his wife Paula of New Bedford and Nelia F. Araujo and her husband Walter J, of North Dartmouth. He was the grandfather of Brittney Ferreira, Sarah Ferreira, Justin Ferreira, Alexis Ferreira and Adam Araujo. He was the brother of Margarida Martins of CT., Joao deMelo Ferreira and Madelena Bravo both of New Bedford. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Ferreira was the son of the late Manuel Jacintho and Beatriz (Melo) Ferreira. He was born in Candelária São Miguel Açores and has lived in this area since 1977; Mr. Ferreira worked as a machine operator at New Bedford Seafood Company until his retirement.

Mr. Ferreira’s Funeral will be Thursday at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. at 9:30 A.M with a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow at St John Cemetery New Bedford MA. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
