Joao Angelo

New Bedford – Joao Angelo, age 78, died Sunday, April 13, 2008 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the husband of Maria Nazare (Silveira) Angelo of New Bedford. Mr. Angelo was the father of Helder Angelo, husband of Maria A. Angelo of S. Dartmouth and John Angelo of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. He was the grandfather of Danielle Marie Angelo and brother of the late Manuel and Justino Amaral, Maria Pereira, Ana DaCunha, Jose Angelo Trinidade and Lionel Angelo. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Angelo was born in Sao Jorge, Azores, Portugal and lived in this area since 1969. He was a son of the late Joao and Claudina (Soares) Angelo. Mr. Angelo was formerly employed as a shell pusher at Chamberlain Mfg. He was a member of the Holy Ghost Society of Horseneck.

Mr. Angelo’s funeral will be at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St., Thursday at 8 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 5-8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., Tel.
