Maria Ferreira - De Almeida

New Bedford- Maria Ferreira - de Almeida died Wednesday March 19, 2008 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the wife of Joao de Almeida of New Bedford, and the late Joseph Ferreira. She was the mother of Manuel husband of Mary Ferreira of Dartmouth, Cecelia wife of Joe Teixeira of Fall River, Stephen husband of Janet Ferreira and Margaret wife of Christopher Perry of Acushnet. She was also survived by 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. de Almeida was born in St. Michael, Azores Portugal, and she lived in this area since 1952. She was employed as a stitcher at Madewell Mfg.

Mrs. de Almeida’s Funeral is from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. on Tuesday at 8:00A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday from 5- 8 P.M.
