New Bedford – Amelia Agostinho, age 81 years, died Sunday, March 16, 2008, at home after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Edmund Agostinho. Born in Dartmouth was the daughter of the late Marianna (Medeiros) and Julio de Sousa. She resided in New Bedford area most of her life.
> Survivors include two sons, Daniel of Leesburg FL. and Norman of Davenport FL. one daughter Cynthia and her husband Michael of New Bedford. She was the loving grandmother of 8 and several great-grandchildren. She was the sister of William Sousa of Dartmouth and the late Manuel de Sousa, Charles de Sousa, Frank de Sousa, Mary Clayton, Irene Garcia, Lydia Coite, and Dorothy Sousa. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will take place at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. on Friday March 21, 2008 at 8 A.M. followed by a service at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday evening from 5-8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
