Carmela Batista (Machado) Farizo

Fairhaven- Carmela Batista (Machado) Farizo age 97 years passed away Saturday February 23rd peacefully at Alden Court Nursing Center where she had been a resident for the last three years. She was the widow of Antonio Farizo. She was the mother of Ana Teresa Farizo of New Bedford, Jorge Farizo of Acushnet, Jose Maria Batista Farizo ,and Lisette Niedbala both of Terceira Acores and Glorialdo Farizo of New Bedford. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, and a niece.

Mrs. Farizo was the daughter of the late Joao B. and Maria Jose (Freitas) Machado. She was born Santa Barbara, Terceira, Acores. She has lived in this area since 1970.

Mrs. Farizo Funeral will be Wednesday at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. at 9:30 A.M with a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow at St John Cemetery New Bedford MA. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
