James R. Souza

New Bedford – James R. Souza, age 61 years, died Wednesday, February 13th, at home with his family. He was the husband of Sandra (Bairos) Souza. Mr. Souza was the father of Sherri Bates of New Bedford and Shannon Rodriguez of Acushnet. He is also survived by a brother Clifford Souza of New Bedford and 2 grandchildren: Nathan Bates and Taylor Lawler.

Mr. Souza was a son of the late James and Lillian (Farias) Souza. He was born in Acushnet and lived in this area all his life. He was a machinist at Brittany Dye. Mr. Souza was a member of the New England Teamsters Union. He also coached Little League in the South End Youth Athletic Associaton League and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.

In accordance with his wishes he was cremated. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
