Agnes (Lopes) Lopes

New Bedford – Agnes (Lopes) Lopes age 88 died Monday January 21, 2008 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the wife of the late Sylvester R. Lopes. She was the mother of Frances Rocheleau of New Bedford, and Josephine Gomes of Falmouth and Nadine Lopes of New Bedford, and the late Rita Lopes and Sylvester R. Lopes Jr. She was the sister of Henry Lopes, Albert Lopes, Rosemary Joseph, and Emily Lomba and the late James Lopes. Survivors also include 12 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren and several nieces, and nephews.

Mrs. Lopes was the daughter of the late Mary (Sylvia) and Peter L. Lopes. She was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all of her life. She was presser with Arista Sportswear until her retirement.

Mrs. Lopes’ Funeral Mass with her ashes present, will be on Saturday February 2, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to meet at church. Arrangements are by Perry Funeral Home.
