Maria Conceicao Rita

New Bedford - Maria Conceicao Rita, age 88, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2008 surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Carlos C. Rita of New Bedford. Mrs. Rita is survived by her children Manuela Rego wife of Jose, and Saozinha Rego wife of Jose both of New Bedford, Maria do Carmo Pimentel widow of Antonio of Dartmouth, Carlos A. Rita husband of Lisa of Mattapoiosett and a son in law Rui Pereira of New Bedford. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces nephews and godchildren. Mrs. Rita was the mother of the late Madeline Rita-Pereira, sister of the late Antonio, Francisco, and Jose Amaral, Belmira Costa and Espirito Santo Medeiros.

Mrs. Rita was a daughter of the late Filomena (Cruz) and Antonio Amaral. She was born in Ribeira Quente, Sao Miguel, Acores and lived here since 1968. She was formerly a stitcher at
T and N Incorporated.

Mrs. Rita’s funeral will be Wednesday at 8 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5 - 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
