Hilda Carreiro

Dartmouth – Hilda (Williams) Carreiro, aged 102 years, died Friday, December 7, 2007. She was the widow of Evaristo Carreiro, the mother of Shirley Eluziario of S. Dartmouth and the mother- in-law of Mary Carreiro of Fairhaven. She is also survived by her grandchildren Stephen and Sandra Carreiro, Sharen Kirkham, Madeline Ziebel, Daniel and Paul Eluziario and Leslie Pereira, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Carreiro was the mother of the late Everett, George and John Carreiro and sister of the late Mary Dias, Adelaide Souza, Belmira Enos, Norbert Guilherme and George Williams.

Mrs. Carreiro was a daughter of the late Joseph and Isabella (Medeiros) Williams. She was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all her life.

Mrs. Carreiro’s funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home, Wednesday, December 12 at 7:45 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church South Dartmouth, at 9 A.M. Visiting hours will be Tuesday evening from 4 – 7 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
