New Bedford MA-Laura Homen aged 83 years died Monday August 13, 2007 at The Oaks Nursing Home. She was the widow of Alfred Homen. Mrs. Homen was the sister of Edward R. Motta of New Bedford and the late Joseph R. Motta. She was also survived by several nieces and nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and several great grandnieces and great grandnephews.

Mrs. Homen was the daughter of the late Emily (Lameiras) and John Motta. She was born in New Bedford and has lived in this area most of her life. She was formerly employed by St. Luke’s Hospital as a nurse aid. She was a member of the St. James Srs, Post 1 American Legion Ladies Auxillarry, Disabled American Chapter 7 Ladies Auxillarry and St. Julies Choir. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Mrs. Homen’s Funeral is From the Perry Funeral Home Thursday at 8:45 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Julie Billiart Church, in Dartmouth, MA., at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at South Dartmouth Cemetery. Visiting Hours are Wednesday 6- 9.
