Maria G. Lima

New Bedford – Maria G. Lima, age 92 years, passed away August 12, 2007 at home with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late John Sousa Mascarenhas. She was the loving mother of Maria Tavares, Maria Nichols, and Bernard Sousa. Loved Grandmother of Lucy, John, Gloria, David, Karen, Sue, Steve, Paul, Emanuel, Filipe, Gloria, and Maria, 15 great grand and 2 great great granddaughters. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs Lima was born in Rosario Lagoa, St Michael, Azores. She was the daughter of the late Maria Amelia (Oliveira) and Jose deLima Amaral. When she lived in Rosario de Lagoa she was the caretaker of the Church.

Her Funeral Mass will be Tuesday at 9:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church Visiting hours are Monday from 5 to 8 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St John Cemetery.
