Mary A. Murphy

New Bedford – Mary A. Murphy, age 71 years, died unexpectedly Sunday July 29, 2007 at New Bedford Rehabilitation Hospital. She was the widow of Patrick Murphy. Loved Mother of Kenneth Avila of Dartmouth. Sister of John Avila lll of Dartmouth and Genevieve Spaulding of New Bedford. Grandmother of Kenneth and Shelley Avila and her step-granchild Sara Murphy. Stepmother of Nancy Bannville of New Hampshire, and Patrick Murphy of Wareham. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Murphy was a daughter of the late Mary (Machado) and John Avila. She was born in Dartmouth and lived in this area all of her life.
Funeral arrangements are by the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. Visiting Hours will be Wednesday from 5-8 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will take place at Massachusetts National Cemetery at a later date.
