Margaret (Naegele) De Lacy

New Bedford - Margaret (Naegele) de Lacy aged 83 years died Wednesday July 25, 2007 at Sacred Heart Home. She was the beloved widow of Earl E. de Lacy. She was the mother of Joyce wife of Daniel Calnen, Earl husband of Karen de Lacy both of New Bedford, and the late Richard N. de Lacy. Mrs. de Lacy was the sister of Helen Page of Fairhaven, and of the late Lillian Menard, Louise Naegele and Mary Newby. She was the grandmother of Matthew Calnen, Amy Santos, Christopher de Lacy, Elizabeth Almeida, Mary de Lacy and Erin de Lacy. She was the sister-in-law of Alice de Lacy of Dartmouth and Olive Portway and her husband Ernest of Foxboro, and the mother-in-law of Patti Jo de Lacy of Fla. She was also survived by her brother- in-law Ernest and his wife Elsie de Lacy of Fla. and 5 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. de Lacy was the daughter of the late August and Mary Ellen (Normile) Naegele. She was born in New Bedford, and lived in this area all her life. She worked as a waitress at the New Bedford Hotel, and as an elevator operator at the Standard Times until her retirement. She was a former member of the South End Youth Athletic Association Ladies Auxiliary.

Mrs. de Lacy’s Funeral will be Monday July 30, 2007 from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. at 9 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Parish, on County St. at 10 A.M., Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Sunday 5- 8 P.M.
