Dorothy Grifford

Dartmouth - Dorothy (DeMello) Gifford passed away on Friday July 6, 2007 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth, MA. She was the wife of the late Milton Paul Gifford. Mrs. Gifford was the mother of Milton Paul Gifford of Pensacola, FL., and Ernest Richard Gifford. She was the aunt of Joyce A. Correia of New Bedford, and Thomas DeMello of California. She was the good friend of Penelope Sylvia of South Dartmouth. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Gifford was the daughter of the late William and Rose P. (Rose) DeMello. She was born in New Bedford and she lived in this area all of her life, and was employed as Dietary Aid at St. Luke's Hospital. She was a member of the St. Julie's Choir and the Resurrection Choir and St. Julie's Guild

Mrs. Gifford ’s funeral will be on Monday, July 9, 2007 at 9:00A.M. at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Julie Billiart Church 494 Slocum Rd. at 10 A.M. Visiting hours are Sunday, July 9, 2007 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. In accordance with her wishes she will then be cremated.
