Lillian “Nana" (Fermino) Stallings

New Bedford-Lillian “Nana" (Fermino) Stallings aged 82 years died Thursday June 7, 2007 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a brief illness. She was the mother of Leslie Ferreira of Florida, Elaine Valerie Almeida of Boston, MA., R. Carleen Cordwell of Martha's Vineyard, MA., Terry Marks of New York, foster mother of Iris Carrion and Marisol Carrion both of New Bedford, MA., and she was the mother of the late Kevin C. Stallings, John F. Stallings Jr., and Allison Stallings. Mrs. Stallings was the sister of Ruth Holland of E. Providence, RI. Alfred Fermino of Orlando, Fl. and of the late Tony, Henry, Joe, Peter, Valley, and Jimmy Fermino, Vangie, Annie and Mary. Mrs. Stallings is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 5 great- great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Stallings was the daughter of the late Valentino and Dominga (Fortes) Fermino. She was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all her life. She was employed as a Social Worker for the Dept of Public Welfare. She was Graduate of Bristol Community College and New Hampshire State College. She was an active community volunteer and dancing was her passion.

Relatives and Friends are invited Sunday 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. for Visiting Hours at the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. Flowers or donations are acceptable.

In accordance with her wishes she will be cremated.
