Francisco Freitas

Dover, NH – Francisco Freitas, aged 89 years, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at the Hyder Family Hospice House. Mr. Freitas was the husband of the late Elvira (Silva) Freitas formerly of S. Dartmouth. He was the father of Lorraine M. Fuller of Raymond, NH, Jewel Cruz and Choi Cruz both of Florida. He was the grandfather of Gregory A. Fuller of Washington, DC., brother of Deolinda and Raymond Freitas of New Bedford, Augustino and Manuel Freitas of Florida and Daniel Freitas of California, godfather of Beverly Masters of New Bedford. Mr. Freitas was the brother of the late Mary Arthur, Alice Mello, Celeste Souza, Antone, John and Joseph Freitas He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Freitas was born and raised in New Bedford and lived in S. Dartmouth all of his adult life. He was a son of the late Antonio and Virginia (Fernandes) Freitas. Mr. Freitas worked as a loom fixer at the Berkshire Hathaway Mills. He was also a World War II Army Veteran having served in Italy.

Mr. Freitas’ funeral will be Wednesday at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St., services will begin at 1 P.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M.
