Rosa (Morgardo) Furtado

Fairhaven – Rosa (Morgardo) Furtado, age 91, died Friday, May 25, 2007 at Our Lady's Haven in Fairhaven. She was the wife of the late Alfredo Furtado. She was the loving mother of Lena Cosme and her husband Donald of Dartmouth, Benny Furtado and his wife Louise of Fairhaven, and of the late Alfred Furtado, Ernest Furtado, John A. Furtado, and Mary Lou Medeiros. She is also survived by 16 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild and several nieces and nephews. She also had several deceased brothers & sisters.

Mrs. Furtado was a daughter of Joao A. and Maria L. (dos Santos) Morgardo. She was born in St. Michael, Azores and lived in this area since 1961.

Mrs. Furtado’s funeral will be Wednesday at 9:30 A.M. from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
