Mary M. (Machado) Avila

New Bedford – Mary S.(Machado) Avila, aged 92 years, died at home surrounded by her family. She was the mother of John Avila III of Dartmouth, Mary Murphy and Genevie Spaulding both of New Bedford. She was the sister of Rosalina Benoit and Laura Murphy both of New Bedford. Mrs. Avila was the grandmother of the late Matthew Avila, sister of the late Frank Machado, step-daughter of the late Palmeda Machado and step-sister of the late John Machado. She is also survived by 2 grand children, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Avila was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Neves) Machado.She was born in Dartmouth and lived in this area all her life.

Mrs. Avila’s funeral will be Friday, May 25,2007 at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 9:30 A.M. with Funeral services to begin at 10 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday evening only from 5 – 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
