Sherri Lynn Calheta

New Bedford – Sherri Lynn Calheta, aged 22 years, died unexpectedly at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the loving mother of Tommy, and Dasian Ortiz both of New Bedford, and the loving sister of Nancy, Diane and Victor Calheta all of New Bedford. Ms. Calheta is also survived by her maternal grandmother: Maria Medeiros of New Bedford. She was the aunt of Jarrid Fernandes and Corin Mello, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Ms. Calheta was the daughter of Hilda (Medeiros) Calheta of New Bedford, and the late Alfredo Calheta. She was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all of her life. She was a student at South Coast Training.

Ms. Calheta’s funeral will be Tuesday from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. at 8 A.M. with a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be Monday evening from 5 to 9 P.M. burial will take place at St. John Cemetery.
