New Bedford-Lillian (Rose) Rezendes aged 85 years died Sunday April 29, 2007 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of Gilbert Rezendes who died August 23, 2006. She was the mother of Julia Serpa and her husband John of Port Orange, FL., Lillian Perreira and her husband Ronald of New Bedford, Diane Tavares of New Bedford, and Gilbert Rezendes and his wife Elaine of Freetown, MA. She was the sister of Florence Ponte of New Bedford, and the late Mildred Lima, She is also survived by 14 Grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Two grandchildren preceded her in death. She is also survived by several nieces, and nephews.
Mrs. Rezendes was the daughter of the late Joseph F., and Florence (Correia) Rose. She was born in Dartmouth, and has lived in this area all her life. She was a stitcher with Bonney Clothing until her retirement. Mrs. Rezendes loved to Cook, play bingo, and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union(I.L.G.W.U.)
Religious services will be Wednesday May 2nd at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. at 12 P.M.Visiting hour will be prior to the service at 11 A.M. Burial will follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
