Mary D.(De Valles) Souza

New Bedford – Mary D. (De Valles) Souza, age 89 died Monday, April 9, 2007 at Sippican Healthcare of Marion, MA. She was the wife of the late Ernest C Souza. She was the mother of Ernest C. Souza Jr, Ronald Souza, Paul Souza, all of New Bedford and the late Richard Souza, and the late Carol Richard. She was the sister of Alice Rogers of New Bedford, MA. Rose Dart of Dartmouth, MA. and the late Jack Devalles and Lee Martin. She is also survived by 12 granchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Souza was born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Cosme and Maria (Moniz)De Valles. She lived in this area all her life. She was a machine operator for Cornell Dubilier. Mrs. Souza loved to play Bingo at St. James Hall. She was a member of St. James Seniors.

Mrs. Souza’s Funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. Thursday April 11, 2007 at 9:30 A.M. with a Service to Begin at 10:00 A.M. Reverend Michael Racine officiating. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4-8 P.M. Burial will take place at Rural Cemetery
