Hilda (Lawrence) Costa

New Bedford-Hilda (Lawrence) Costa died Monday February 19th at St. Luke’s Hospital, after a long illness. She was the Beloved wife of John Costa. She was the mother of Lynn A. Costa, and Michael J. Costa both of New Bedford, and the late Susan Costa. She was the grandmother of Nicole Turcotte-Sylvia and Corey Costa both of New Bedford. She was the great-grandmother of Sydney Sylvia, and Evan Sylvia both of New Bedford. She was the sister of Mary Tremblay, Anna Correia, Cynthia Adriano, Theresa Silva, John Lawrence all of New Bedford, and Richard Lawrence of Dartmouth, and the late Joseph Avila, and Charlie Lawrence. She is also survived by several nieces, and nephews.

Mrs. Costa was the daughter of the late Carlos and Marion (Borges) Lawrence. She was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all her life. She was a stitcher with River Edge and Forecaster Coats until her retirement.

Mrs. Costa Funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home Friday February 23rd at 7:45 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church New Bedford, at 9 A.M. Visiting hours will be Thursday evening from 5-8 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St.
