Lucia "Lucy" Mendez Pina

New Bedford-Lucia “Lucy” Mendez Pina died Friday February 16th after a long illness at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Jack J. Pina of New Bedford. She was the loved mother of Brenda Pina of Florida, Charlie Pina of Attleboro, MA., and the late John Pina. She was the sister of Grace Mendez, Maria Nelson, Norberto Mendez all of New Bedford, she also has several deceased brothers and sisters. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Pina was the daughter of the late Juan and Manuela (Marrero) Mendez. She was born in Santa Domingo, Puerto Rico. She was a stitcher in a curtain factory. She was a member of the Holy Ghost Society.

In accordance with her wishes she was cremated.

A Memorial Service will take place at a latter date.
