Maria (Rosonina) Couto

New Bedford - Maria (Rosonina) Couto died Thursday, February 15, 2007 at St Luke’s Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Joao Bento Couto of So. Dartmouth. Mrs. Couto was the mother of Jose and Joao Couto of So. Dartmouth, Manuel Couto of New Bedford, and the late Maria Fatima Silva. She is survived by 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews

Mrs. Couto was born in Reibeira da Quente, St Michael, Azores, Portugal and lived in this area since 1976. She was the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (DeJesus) Rosonina.

Mrs. Couto’s Funeral will be Saturday, February 17, 2007 at 8:00 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St., with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours are Friday, February 16, 2007 from 5 - 8 P.M.
