Maria (Pine) Couto

New Bedford - Maria (Pine) Couto, age 70, died Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital, after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Jose Vieira Couto. She was the mother of Leiste Vieira and Marilda Vieira both of St. Michael, Azores. Jose Carlos Vieira, Emanuel Vieira, Natalia Vieira and Luis Vieira all of New Bedford. She was the sister of Zelia Oliveira, Angelo Raposo, Maria De Deus Raposo and Joao Pine all of New Bedford. Mrs. Couto is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews

Mrs. Couto was the daughter of the late Joao Cardoso and Angelina (Raposo) Pine. She was born in St. Michael, Azores and she had lived in this area since 1985.

Mrs. Couto's Funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home Friday, February 16, 2007 at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday evening only, from 5 - 8 P.M.
