Maria R. Costa

>Dartmouth, MA.-Maria R. Costa died February 7, 2007 at home surrounded by her family, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Joaquim da Silva Costa. She was the mother of Joaquim "Jack" S. Costa and his wife Rhonda of N. Dartmouth. She was the grandmother of Jack A. Costa and Renee M. Rodrigues, and the great-grandmother of Olivia Rose Rodrigues. Mrs. Costa was the sister of Joaquim Mateus of S. Dartmouth, Beatrice Luiz of New Bedford, and Deolinda Jardin of Acushnet. She was also survived by several nieces and nephews

Mrs. Costa was born in New Bedford and lived in this area most of her life. He was the daughter of the late John and Mary Florence (George) Mathews. She was a stitcher for the local dress factories.

Mrs. Costa’s Funeral will be February 9, 2007 at 9:30 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St., with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M.. Visiting hours are February 8, 2007 from 5-8 P.M.. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.
