Raymond "Red" Gonsalves

New Bedford-Raymond “Red” Gonsalves age 67 years, died Friday January 26, at St. Luke’s Hospital unexpectedly. He was the husband of June (Vieira) Gonsalves. He was the father of Raymond Gonsalves Jr. of Concord, North Carolina, Beth Ann Rolston, and Craig Gonsalves both of New Bedford, and the late Chad Gonsalves. He was the brother of Marla Moreno of New Bedford. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Mr. Gonsalves was the son of the late Antone and Rose (De Mello) Gonsalves. He was born in New Bedford, and a life long resident. He served his country in the National Guard. He was a steel worker with Allegheny Teledyne until his retirement. He also worked for Good Year Tire and Rubber before it closed.

He was a communicant of Our Lady of Guadalupe at St. James Church.

In accordance with his wishes he was cremated.

A private graveside service will be held at a latter date.
