Eunice (Smith) Sylvia, 82, of N. Dartmouth died Friday January 26, 2007 at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home after a long illness. She was the wife of the late John Sylvia Jr. Born in Dartmouth, daughter of the late James Henry Smith and Lucy (Potter) Smith. She lived in Dartmouth all her life. She was a graduate of Dartmouth High School. She was employed at the Morse Twist Drill and later worked at the family owned business Sylvia’s Auto Parts Inc. in which she and her late husband John started in 1951. She was an avid bowler for many years at the Wonder bowl.

She is survived by her by her dear friend and loving companion, Tony Texeira of Fairhaven. Her four sons Thomas Sylvia, John Sylvia, and his wife Joan, Richard Sylvia and his wife Donna, and Timothy Sylvia and his wife Barbara all of Dartmouth, a brother Richard Sylvia and his wife Nancy of Dartmouth. She was the sister of the late David Smith and James Smith and a grandmother of the late Tracee Sylvia. She had nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are by Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. New Bedford. Relatives and friends are invited Visiting hours 5-8 on Monday January 29, 2007. In lieu of flowers of flowers donation may be made to a charity or organization of your chose.
