Fernando Gonsalves

New Bedford –Fernando Gonsalves age 47 years died unexpectedly Friday January 19th from injuries sustain in an automobile accident. He was the father of David Gonsalves of Buzzards Bay, and Brandin Gonsalves of New Bedford. He was the brother of Elizabeth Schaffstein of North Dartmouth, and Elsie Oliveira of Freetown. Two grandsons Brandin, and Ryan, as well as several nieces, and nephews, also survive him.

Mr. Gonsalves was the son of Antonio and Maria (Correia) Gonsalves of New Bedford. He was born in Coimbra, Portugal and moved here when he was 3 years old, as a grown man he returned to Portugal, making many visits to the New Bedford area to see family and friends. He was a self-employed painter.

Mr. Gonsalves will have a private funeral services in accordance with the wishes of the family.
