Jose A. Fagundes

New Bedford, Jose A. Fagundes aged 94 yrs, passed away Thursday December 21, 2006, at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Ana A. (Oliveira) Fagundes. He was the father of Jose A. Fagundes and his wife Ines and Mario Fagundes and his wife Ann both of Dartmouth, and of the late Carlos J. Fagundes. He was the grand father of Daniel and Stacy Fagundes, Lisa Barton and the late Mario J. Fagundes. Mr. Fagundes was the great grand father of Quincy, Grant and Tyler Barton, and Devin and Taylor Fagundes. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Fagundes was born in Corvo, Azores, and lived in this area since 1961. He is a son of Gasper P. and Amelia C. (Avelar) Fagundes. He was formerly employed as a painter at Concordia Boat Yard.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be 4 to 7 P.M., on, Tuesday at the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St.
