Manuel Camara

Fairhaven-Manuel Camara age 87 years died Friday December 22, 2006 at the Alden Court Nursing Care & Rehabilitation Center. He was the beloved widow of Muriel R. (Morrissette) Camara. He was the father of Jeffrey M. and his wife Carol (Thompson) Camara of East Freetown, MA. He was the loving grandfather of Jonathan Camara of Cuttyhunk, MA., Martha and her husband John Moniz of North Dartmouth, MA., and Amy and her husband Harrie Ashley of East Freetown, and 7 Great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Carmina Perry of New Bedford, MA. He is also survived by 2 Nieces, and 2 Nephews.

Mr. Camara was the son of Manuel J. and Marianna (Mello) Camara. He was the former proprietor of Sterling Service Station on Coggshall St. for 40 years, until he retired in 1978. He was a graduate of the Class of “37” from Fairhaven High School.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday December 26, 2006 at10:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Church Fairhaven, MA. Visiting hours will be Sunday December 24, 2006 from 1-4 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. Burial will take place at St. John Cemetery.
