Maria Regina (Demelo) Amaral

New Bedford – Maria Regina Amaral age 70 died December 18,2006 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth, after a long illness. She was the loving wife of Manuel Amaral of New Bedford. She was the mother of Carlos and Jose Amaral both of New Bedford, and Judy (Amaral) Deschenes of Providence, RI. She was the Grandmother of 5, and Great-grandmother of 2, she also has 3 nieces. She was the sister of Odelia Neves, Ricardina Rosa, Ana Baptista, and Jose Melo all of Faial, Acores.

Mrs. Amaral was the daughter of the late Jose Silveira and Maria Francisca (Fontes) deMelo. She was born in Faial, Acores, and has lived here for 32 years. She was a stitcher at a dress factory, until her retirement.

Her Funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home Friday December 22, 2006 at 8:00 A.M., with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 5-8 P.M.
